Control's first expansion, "The Foundation," to be released this month

Remedy announced last September that "Control," a story of life, loss, and love in an alternate dimension nexus on the verge of falling due to an alien invasion, would receive two post-release expansions in 2020. Since then, the developer has remained silent about the future of "Control," but today finally announced that the first expansion, "The Foundation," will be released on March 26.

The teaser doesn't say much, but it ties in very clearly with the base game." Marshall" refers to Helen Marshall, the director of operations for the Federal Administration. She appears several times in cutscenes, but later in the game, she tells POTUS that she is going to look into something and disappears at that point. There is no mistaking the fact that in the base game, whatever she goes out to, she will explode again in the relatively near future! Either way, she will be there in a few weeks.

"Control" is a great shooter, but what really sets it apart is its brilliant setting. It's a wonderful blend of the mundane and the bizarre, filled with narrative nuggets of all kinds, a self-contained story, and a sharp edge of weirdness everywhere you turn. The Foundation will be taking place in the basement of the Old House, FBC's headquarters, where, apparently, even weirder things are happening. Definitely something to look forward to.

AWE, the second expansion of Control, will be released in mid-2020.
