Wasteland 3" Backer Beta Begins March 17

Wasteland 3 has been a huge crowdfunding success, and now backers can try their hand at the game as inXile launches a beta test later this month.

Announcing the beta on the game's Fig page, inXile announced that the beta will begin on March 17 at 9 am PDT for all backers of $25 or more. Those who participated in the alpha test held last August do not need to redeem a new key, and everyone else will receive a Steam code shortly.

The test will include the first few hours of Wasteland 3, including character creation and a handful of early areas. There is no NDA on the test, so expect to see a lot of it when it launches. Gameplay can be streamed, recorded, and shared as much as you like.

InXile strongly reminds players that this is really a beta test and the content they will see is subject to change. There is also a possibility that there will be a lot of bugs and the game has not yet been optimized, which could make play quite unstable. To address this, there will be a reporting tool in the game so that testers can identify and report any technical glitches they may encounter.

When this beta testing period will end has not been announced. However, the game itself is currently scheduled to launch on May 19, so those who were unable to participate in this phase of testing will not have to wait long until they can play the entire game.
