PC version of "Halo 2" to begin testing later this month.

Following the surprise release of "Halo: Combat Evolved" earlier this month, 343 Industries is poised to begin testing the next major installment in the series: Halo 2 and its remake, "Halo 2: Anniversary," which is expected to be released in the fall of 2012 alongside "Halo:. Reach" along with "Forge" and "Theater," are expected to begin testing by the end of the month.

The studio made the announcement in a blog post, lightly warning that its timeline may not hold (remember, "Halo: Combat Evolved" testing was moved from January to February).

"Just to be clear, flights (or "tests" as the studio calls them) are a way to provide early access builds to Halo Insiders prior to general release. Much of it is rough around the edges and is truly work-in-progress." Building these games is a process and circumstances can change. All of the above is subject to change and the timing could change, but if all goes well, we are targeting the end of March for the next public flight."

The test flights are available to members of the Halo Insider Program, but as the blog post warns, being a member of the program does not guarantee access to the flights, but it is a great way to get the next Master Chief before anyone else. Collection is a great opportunity to try out the collection before anyone else.

Cheers, Eurogamer.
