The creators of "Dicey Dungeons" and "VVVVV" are distributing thousands of games for free.

Terry Cavanagh, author of "Dicey Dungeons" and "VVVVVV," is distributing his game for free on Itch.io. In a tweet, Cavanagh said that in light of the coronavirus outbreak, he wanted to give people a chance to play his game "as a distraction." He stated that he wanted to The game can be downloaded from Cavanagh's Itch profile.

Cavanagh is currently giving away 1,000 copies each of three commercial games: the gravity-flipping platformer "VVVVVV," the tough arcade game "Super Hexagon," and the deck-building rogue-like "Dicey Dungeons." As of this writing, 1,000 copies of "Dicey Dungeons" have already sold out, but "VVVVVV" and "Super Hexagon" are still available.

Other developers are also releasing games as a reaction to the coronavirus outbreak that has forced people around the world to refrain from doing so; a full list of games on discount can be found on Itch's store sale page.

Games on sale include Julian Glander's Art Sqool, and along with Art Sqool, there is also a puzzle roguelike called Fidel Dungeon Rescue. For something a little more action-packed, Minor Key Games' first-person adventure game Eldritch is 70% off.
