The Witcher" Season 2 Production Suspended Due to Fears of Coronavirus

Production on The Witcher Season 2 has been suspended for two weeks as Netflix moves to respond to the coronavirus situation in the U.K. According to Deadline, production was halted "to allow everyone time to make an informed decision about how to proceed."

The company said.

Netflix suspended production of all programming in the U.S. and Canada last week after President Trump declared a state of emergency. The number of infected people in the UK has been steadily increasing, and many companies have temporarily closed their offices in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus.

We did not expect Season 2 to be released until 2021, but it remains to be seen if further delays will eventually affect Netflix's release schedule. Plot details are still unknown, but we do know that Geralt's mentor, Vesemir, will appear in the new season. The new series appears to be a more linear arc, eschewing the scattered time jumps of season one.
