Ubisoft Warns "Rainbow Six Siege" Development May Be Delayed by Coronavirus

As the coronavirus outbreak continues, many game developers are transitioning to telecommuting. (If this is your first time, we're here to help.) This is a major step in the effort to combat the spread of the disease, and studios are doing their best to continue business as usual: CD Projekt Red, for example, said earlier this week that the shift to remote work should not delay the release of "Cyberpunk 2077."

Today, Ubisoft, one of the world's largest groups of game creators, announced that it too will institute a telecommuting policy, but also warned that it could affect the immediate development of "Rainbow Six Siege."

"While there will be no change to the day-to-day play experience of 'Rainbow Six Siege,' we expect small patches to be cut in the short term. This will not affect future content that is ready for release in the current update. However, the impact on upcoming content releases is currently being evaluated and we will keep the community updated on any schedule changes that may occur in the future."

Last week, "Rainbow Six Siege" launched Operation Void Edge, Year 5, with the addition of two new operators, Oryx and Iana, a reworked map, and various quality of life changes. Year 5 Season 2 adds two more operators, and Seasons 3 and 4 One operator will be added to each, plus a map makeover, changes to core gameplay, and new events. With this update, Morgan updated the list of "Rainbow Six Siege" best operators.
