Watch Dogs and The Stanley Parable are now free in the Epic Games Store

Maybe you suddenly have an abundance of free time on your hands. Maybe you need to kill some time. But even if neither of those things is the case, today is definitely Thursday. That means it's time to pop into the Epic Games Store for your weekly infusion of free items.

First up this week is Watch Dogs, a third-person action game starring Aiden Pierce. Aiden Pierce is not only a brilliantly gifted computer hacker, but also a master white-arms fighter, a world-class marksman, an FIA Super License holder, and a stylish sex machine. After a bank robbery gone wrong, Pearce and his fellow hackers, who have complicated circumstances, embark on a high-tech quest to take down the corrupt officials of the city of Chicago. Despite the inherent silliness of the whole thing, I actually quite liked it, with 87% of reviews stating that "hacking the city of Chicago and all its cameras, utilities, and communications is freeing and fun."

Watch Dogs is rated M, so younger gamers may not be able to get their hands on it; Epic also offers The Stanley Parable, a short and very strange first-person narrative experience that allows everyone to play at least one free game a week: A 2013 reviewer gave the game a high score of 90%, calling it "effortlessly inventive, frequently surprising, and consistently entertaining."

Watch Dogs and The Stanley Parable are free now and will remain free through March 26. Next week, Figment and Tormentor x Punisher will be free on the Epic Store.
