General
The Legend of Luneterra is even more generous in facilitating the availability of new cards.

"Legends of Runeterra," an excellent alternative to Hearthstone, partly due to its less expensive booster packs and more generous progression system, is getting an even better one: with the March 31 update will revolutionize the progression system by eliminating spend limits and guaranteeing better rewards from the Weekly Chest, regardless of whether cards are purchased or earned through normal play.

For those unfamiliar with the Legends of Luneterra card acquisition process, this change may be a bit difficult to understand. In essence, instead of gambling with booster packs, players will be able to purchase cards directly using wildcards of the corresponding rarity. These wildcards can be purchased with premium currency or earned from the Legends of Runeterra draft mode, weekly chests (called Weekly Vaults), and free battle passes that level up through regular play. You can level up your Weekly Vault by completing daily quests and gaining experience every time you play, which rewards you exponentially better.

However, to slow down competitive players and discourage them from immediately purchasing the entire collection of cards, several restrictions are in place: one is that players can only purchase a few wild cards each week, effectively limiting the amount they can spend and another limitation is that the Weekly Vault can only be leveled up to a maximum of 13. Experience gained after that point is meaningless.

Both of these restrictions will be removed when update 0.9.3 goes live on March 31. Players will be able to purchase unlimited wildcards each week, and the Weekly Vault will have unlimited levels to reward players who play more than a few hours a day. Free-to-play players will also not have to worry about not being able to keep up, as Weekly Vault rewards will be much more generous.

Here is a brief overview of all the changes:

In a blog post about the changes, Riot stated that the new system "maximizes the ability to try out different cards, ensures faster and more reliable 'Time-to-Deck,' and is accessible for all LoR players He explains that the intent is to "maintain ease of accessibility.

Riot also noted that a future patch will add an experience boost to the Battle Pass progression system, allowing new players to quickly catch up to those who have been playing cards for months.

This is a surprising change, given that we already felt that Legends of Lunetera was much more generous than its card game competitors. Still, I wouldn't say no to even more rewards and freedom to build decks.

If you haven't played Legends of Luneterra yet, I urge you to do so. Progression aside, it is the perfect middle ground between the complexity of Magic: The Gathering and the accessibility of Hearthstone.
