Characters from "Borderlands 3" will be a big part of the second half of the game later this week.

With the release of the second Borderlands 3 expansion, "Guns, Love and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright and Hammerlock," just days away, publisher 2K Games has announced details regarding the next level details regarding the cap increase. With this update, players will be able to raise their characters to level 57, unlocking two capstone skills that were previously only one.

The update blog also details the upcoming Mayhem 2.0 mode, which will feature 10 Mayhem levels and 25 modifiers "categorized by general difficulty," with the higher the Mayhem level, the better the drops! Mayhem 2.0 will launch in April with the start of Revenge of the Cartels, a new six-week seasonal event that begins with the Saurian NPC Maurice needing help paying off a debt he owes to Johnny UltraViolet

This event will be held in the same location as the first event.

The event will feature a new map called "The Mansion," and the map will change depending on which gang currently runs the cartel. Beyond the fact that you won't be fighting the same faction twice in a row, you won't know what enemies await you until you're in the thick of the battle," 2K said. Additionally, each gang has unique loot and Anointed parts, so repeat play is highly recommended."

In addition, players will be able to obtain Revenge of the Cartels gear by completing optional challenges.

More details on Mayhem 2.0 and the Revenge of the Cartels event will be forthcoming as we get closer to launch. For more information on this weekend's Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright and Hammerlock expansion, visit borderlands.com.
