GDC 2020 talks are now free!

Despite the announcement on February 28 that this year's Game Developers Conference would be postponed indefinitely as part of the global response to the coronavirus pandemic, several talks originally scheduled for March 16-20 did go ahead. These pre-recorded virtual talks on a variety of topics affecting game design and development were originally streamed on GDC's Twitch channel last week and are now available for free viewing by anyone via Twitch or GDC Vault.

The organizers also announced that they plan to upload the talks to the GDC YouTube channel in the coming weeks.

GDC also took the opportunity to promote the GDC Vault Member Subscription. This is $550 per year and provides access to a backlog of over 20 years of talks from past GDC and Virtual Reality Developers Conferences. 2020 talks can be found on the Free Content tab of the GDC Vault homepage. In addition to virtual talks on topics ranging from the business of selling games to machine learning in matchmaking to mental health in the industry, the 2020 IGF and Game Developers Choice Awards, held exclusively online on March 21, will also available on the GDC Twitch channel.
