This LEGO graphics card may be your best chance to get a new GPU this year.

Forget the Cyberpunk 2077 Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti. This LEGO 3Dfx Voodoo 3D graphics card is up on the LEGO Ideas site, waiting to become a real kit available in stores.

It was posted on Twitter by @Bhall_Spawn, "the weirdo who brought the LEGO Sound Blaster" (her words, not mine!). It is It may not make the best graphics card list, and it may not even run Crysis, but I love LEGO-made. I have fond memories of trying to stuff a Raspberry Pi into an enclosure I built out of LEGO...

But wait, 3Dfx, okay, Boomer... 3Dfx was Nvidia's predecessor and produced some of the most stunning visuals at 640 x 480 resolution. The original Voodoo graphics card was released in 1996 and had 4MB of non-LEGO memory and a 50 MHz clock speed. Hmmm.

Bhall_Spawn also makes the LEGO Sound Blaster and Gravis Ultrasound.

Can I get an Nvidia 8800GT please? I loved that card. Glossy black, single slot shroud...

If you go to the LEGO Ideas page, you can vote to make 3Dfx Voodoo a real LEGO set. You need 10,000 votes to vote and there are only 9,900 votes left!

It will probably be a while before another new graphics card is released; Jen-Hsun has announced that Nvidia is holding off on shiny announcements at GTC until they have something more important to do, and the Computex postponement means that AMD Big Navi's June release, which means we may lose it as well. However, this is one graphics card we might actually be able to help get manufactured.
