Nvidia graphics card does not load DirectX 11 games.

Nvidia graphics card does not load DirectX 11 games.

Although this does not appear in the GeForce Experience utility, Nvidia has made available a "hot fix" for an issue that prevents some DirectX 11 games from launching properly after the latest GPU driver update.

According to Nvidia, the issue occurs when image sharpening is enabled within the control panel. This option is located under the [Manage 3D Settings] heading and may or may not have been enabled. Whether you have or have not enabled this option, the 445.75 driver update earlier this week seems to have changed this behavior slightly.

If you have not downloaded the 445.75 driver or are not experiencing this particular problem, you may skip the hotfix. Otherwise, you can get the 445.78 hotfix from Nvidia. [The 445.75 driver was the second release by Nvidia in less than a week; the 445.75 driver brought optimizations for Half-Life: Alyx, Resident Evil 3, and the new "Ghost Experience" for Ghost Recon Breakpoint brought optimizations for the "Doom Eternal", while the one before it (442.74) had to focus only on making "Doom Eternal" play well on that hardware.

It is a bit unusual for a new GPU driver to arrive a few days after the previous one, but this time it seems that the release of two major games in a short span of time prompted the decision.
