Valorant's support character Sage is featured in a new gameplay teaser.

The latest character teaser video for Riot's upcoming competitive FPS "Valorant" spotlights the Sage, who specializes in defense and recovery, unlike the Phoenix, Viper, and Sova fighters previously shown.

The video showcases the Sage's two "orbs": the Slow Orb, which slows the player moving through it, grounding them and creating a field that makes noise as they move, reminiscent of Sub-Zero's Ground Freeze; and the Sage's Orb, which is a "slow orb" that slows the player moving through it, grounding them and creating a sound field as they move.

Like all good support characters, Sage can deploy healing orbs, which take a few seconds to restore full strength to himself and his teammates.

We went hands-on with Valorant earlier this month and found it to be "a surprisingly traditional competitive shooter" that also "allows you to build your own identity in the details." Currently slated for release this summer, the game is free to play in base, with an in-game cosmetic store and battle pass, but no loot boxes.
