Riot Games' hardcore competitive FPS "Valorant" will begin a closed beta for players. The closed beta will begin on April 7 and is open to players in Europe, Canada, Russia, Turkey, and the United States.
This is Riot's first opportunity to let players experience a 5vs5 shooter, but only in designated regions. According to the press release, other regions may participate in the beta, but that depends on "progress in the current COVID-19 pandemic."

There is no information on how long the closed beta will be available, and Riot asks players to check the game's official website for more information on the beta and Twitch eligibility guidelines. Riot also explained that they have not yet confirmed a release date for Valorant, but are aiming for a launch this summer and will make a final decision depending on feedback from the beta.
