Below's forgiving "Explore Mode" now available in beta

Capy Games' punishing roguelike game "Below" gets a little easier with the introduction of a new Explore mode on April 7. While the original "Survive" mode will remain for those who hate surviving, Explore will feature a number of changes, including the elimination of the game's hunger and thirst system and no more one-hit deaths.

If you've backlogged Below in anticipation of this mode, the good news is that you can play the beta right now on Steam; in addition to being a perk for PC players, Capy Games is asking for community help in squashing the game's remaining bugs.

Access is simple: right-click on the Below icon in Steam, select "Properties," and enter the code "AIMHLSDAASMTCSPS" in the "BETAs" tab. Once entered, you can choose to participate in the "Public - Explore Public Branch" beta.

There are no doubt a lot of people who absolutely love the vanilla Below difficulty level, and the good news is that Survive mode will remain unchanged. However, the release of Explore will be good news for those who admire the game's beautiful world, but have not been able to see much of it due to the game's rigors.
