What a difference a year makes In March 2019, I wrote about the GeForce RTX 2070 graphics card that was selling for $469.99, a reasonable bargain at the time. Now, 12 months later, the least expensive model is this Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070, which sells for $379.99 on Newegg.

This price is after applying coupon code 4NFJSPC54 at checkout. Once this discount is applied, we could not find a better deal at 2070, even with the mail-in rebate applied.

Gigabyte stuck to reference specs with this model. This means that the base clock is 1,410 MHz, the boost clock is 1,620 MHz, and the 8 GB of GDDR6 memory runs at 14 Gbps.

The RTX 2070 is in its element with 1440p and 1080p games, and should be able to maintain 60fps or better in most games; now that DLSS 2.0 has arrived, 4K is worth revisiting.

Gigabyte has installed a Windforce 2X cooler on this card. While I have not specifically tested this model, I have played with several Gigabyte models using some sort of Windforce cooling solution and found it to be a good balance of noise and temperature.
