Update: Cellar Door Games has tweeted a follow-up to Rogue Legacy 2. Details are scarce at the moment, but it will definitely be released.

Original Story When Rogue Legacy was first released in 2013, the world was not as awash in rogue-lite platformers as it is now. I reinstalled it a few months ago and can happily confirm that it was not the novelty that helped it succeed back then. The formula is pure fun, and the randomized character loadouts still surprise and delight.

So it is good news that studio Cellar Door Games is teasing a sequel. The studio posted the following tweet earlier today, seemingly assuring a full announcement tomorrow:

Any other day you would consider it a dead certainty, but today is April Fool's Day. Announcing something that people really want and then retracting it in the name of humor can hardly be called amusing. Having said that, tell that to the "Monster Boy" studio that announced a fake "Ducktales" game earlier today. I did not laugh.
