Resident Evil 8" rumored to be released next year with first-person perspective

In "a grain of salt in an ocean" news today, rumors are circulating that a first-person Resident Evil 8 is in the works. This comes from a regular leaker, Dusk Golem aka AestheticGamer, who was right about something like a Resident Evil 3 remake coming sooner than we expected, and less right about multiple Silent Hill games in development.

According to what he said about the next Resident Evil, it was born as Resident Evil 8, but most of its development was reincarnated as a spin-off, Resident Evil: Revelations 3 ("Revelations" as in Revelations 2"), which was to be called "Resident Evil: Revelations 2," a slightly different side game. Apparently, Capcom was so impressed with this early version of the game that they decided to pull back to the main Resident Evil game.

Here is what the leaker really said: "Many purists will hate this game because of its first-person perspective and some serious deviations in the story, enemies, etc. Hallucinations, the occult, madness, and the inability to trust others are major themes in this game.

He also claims that Resident Evil 8 will be released in 2021; I was hoping to hear more from Capcom at E3, but that event is no longer taking place, so I don't know when we'll get a confirmation or denial on this. Still, for those who disliked the first-person perspective in Resident Evil 7, it will give them something to complain about for a while.
