Limited edition Cyberpunk 2077 GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards are selling on eBay for $4,300 in the US and £5,000 in the UK.

Fewer than 200 of these commemorative GPUs were produced, most of which were given away for free in an Nvidia competition months before Cyberpunk 2077's original release date of April 16. Winners were chosen in pairs in a very popular Twitter competition that received about 130,000 entries. It was not easy to obtain this cyberpunk graphics card.

Its rarity made it valuable. Based on the already expensive $1,199 (£1,149) RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition, these graphics cards sell for $3,000 to $4,300 in the US. In the UK, the Cyberpunk 2080 Ti already sells for £2,200 to £5,000.

Most are sold unopened. The yellow-trimmed shrouds and futuristic backplates with logos are not exposed to the human eye. However, several lucky bidders ripped open the packaging and looked intently before shipping their grand prize to the highest bidder, which does not seem to have affected the sale price.

My guess is that since these graphics cards were shipped in pairs, the winner kept one and shipped the other to split the cash. A graphics card and £2,500 extra from two tweets? That's hilarious.

Some users, however, are a bit more careless with their finances, posting photos of their cyberpunk GPUs in their new homes.

This isn't Nvidia's first rodeo making a special edition graphics card. In the past, Nvidia created two limited edition Star Wars Titan Xp graphics cards, one for the Jedi and one for the Sith, and sold them through its official store.

I even had a Dark Side Titan Xp in my office back in the day. After looking at it for a long time upon delivery, I boxed it up rigorously to send it to a giveaway winner. But the fact that this graphics card was sent to someone else's happiness really pissed me off.
