The kind folks at Crate Entertainment liked it when we put "Grim Dawn" on sale in February: it's on sale for 80 percent off. That's 5 percent higher than last time! The expansions "Forgotten Gods" and "Ashes of Malmouth" are also 30 percent off, so you can get the action RPG for $5 or the action RPG for $28.78. That's a fair price for a game we called a masterpiece in our review: "Few modern hack-and-slash RPGs are as much fun."

"Grim Dawn" is a decidedly old-school action-RPG, reminiscent of the "Diablo 2" era of the genre, and coated with a dark grimness and grim darkness. Our review once again: "After the pixellated heroes of Torchlight and the dazzling halls of Diablo III, many wanted this, and Grim Dawn certainly delivers... Old school like Diablo II and Titan Quest. A true successor to ARPGs, it dumps mountains of loot in dimly lit dungeons, but with far more spunk and personality than its closest cousin, Path of Exile.

Grim still has much to offer four years after its release. Aside from frequent updates, it has aged well compared to games that rely on large player counts to provide enjoyment because they are less concerned with a persistent multiplayer experience. The game also has a really cool character customization system that allows players to mix and match classes to create their own unique style. Grim Dawn is available on Steam for 80% off.
