Nvidia's Latest GPU Driver Supports RTX Beta Version of Minecraft

Nvidia is pushing a new "Game Ready" graphics driver for GeForce GPUs, and with it comes the latest performance optimizations, profiles, and bug fixes for RTX beta Minecraft, which launches tomorrow.

In case you missed Jacob's article on the real-time ray-tracing update planned for Minecraft, the bottom line is that more beautiful graphics are on the way. In this update, Minecraft will be completely revamped by Past Racer. This means that the graphics will be spiced up with more realistic shadows, reflections, global illumination, etc.

It remains to be seen how well RTX-powered Minecraft will perform on RTX 20 series cards, and we don't hold out much hope for Pascal and Turing-based GeForce GTX cards, which technically support ray tracing (via DXR). In any case, the new 445.87 WHQL driver is what you want if you plan on playing games.

Outside of Minecraft, Nvidia says its latest driver is also optimized for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, Saints Row: The Third Remastered, and SnowRunner It states.

Nvidia has added more certified G-Sync-enabled monitors with this driver release. The new additions are the Acer XB273GP and XB323U and the Asus V27B.

There are also a small number of bug fixes, one of which addresses a flickering issue with Doom Eternal. The full list is here:

The latest drivers can be downloaded from GeForce Experience or obtained directly from Nvidia's website. Also see our guide on how to update your drivers for best practice tips.
