Blizzard Details Next Version of Hearthstone: Ashes of Outland Nerf

Update: Details of the 17.0.2 patch have been revealed on the Hearthstone forums. The date is still undecided, but Blizzard has reiterated that it will be available early next week.

According to our resident Hearthstone obsessive, the changes to Kael'Thas are not enough, and delaying the decadent OTK combo that the card allows by one turn is not a big deal. Likewise, the damage from Altruis still hitting enemy heroes directly in the face is highly questionable. Other than that, solid changes.

Here's what you can look forward to.

Hearthstone's "Ashes of Outland" expansion is the first new class in the game's long history and the first ever It was a big one, bringing the fastest nerf in the game's long history. More changes are planned for next week: Senior Designer Dean Ayala announced on Twitter that the second "Ashes of Outland" balance patch will change many cards, the Hearthstone Battlegrounds "Libram of Justice" will be buffed and "Milhouse" will be nerfed in Hearthstone Battlegrounds.

Blizzard expects the pace of updates to slow after this patch, "at least in regards to nerfing cards in Constructed Battlegrounds." A major update for Hearthstone Battlegrounds, an autobattler, is scheduled around the middle of the expansion. No date has been specified, but Ashes of Outlands is the first of three expansions scheduled for the Year of the Phoenix, and my guess is that it will be around early June.

We will provide details of the balance patch for Ashes of Outland as soon as it is released. Until then, here's how Garaklond Warlock is tearing up the Hearthstone meta (and Daemon Hunters), as well as the best Daemon Hunter decks and what to do when they are used.
