World of Warcraft's Double XP Event Extended Through Summer

A few days before its scheduled end date, Blizzard extended World of Warcraft's double XP event in response to player outcry; the event, called "Winds of Wisdom," was originally scheduled to end this Monday, but players were very disappointed that it was ending. Therefore, Blizzard now says that it will run until the pre-patch for the next expansion, Shadowlands.

This means that WoW players have a few more months to earn double experience from quests and monsters (and everything else that gives experience.) Since Shadowlands does not yet have a confirmed release date, it is unclear when the gap between the current expansion and We don't know when a pre-patch update will be delivered to fill the gap, but this is great news for those looking to pass the time.

"Winds of Wisdom" was to be replaced by a second event called "Exalt in the Impressive Influence" (who named it that?). This event will still take place as planned, and the double XP event will continue.

This means that if you are thinking about playing WoW or want to prepare your character for the release of Shadowlands, now is a great time to start playing WoW, as you will get double the XP and double the reputation rewards. and quickly level up your character to 120, you'll be able to make a little progress in the faction reputation grind and get some cool rewards like the Allied race (a cool variant of WoW's core playable race), mounts, and other in-game goodies.

But you might want to wait: in Shadowlands, Blizzard is overhauling the level system, lowering the current level cap of 120 to level 60. In addition to the fun new starter zone, Exile's Reach, this will make leveling much faster than it is now. The way you level will also change: instead of dutifully playing the old zones that have been around since Warcraft launched, you will now be able to play just one of the previous expansion zones, allowing you to raise your character from level 10 to level 50, where Shadowlands begins.

This is a huge improvement. I've been playing WoW for years because after years of time travel and new expansions, WoW's storyline was kind of confusing and hard to keep up with. This new system will make the whole thing simpler and quicker to follow - although the double XP bonus may still be a shorter way to the end game.
