Phantasy Star Online 2" Finally Released in North America for PC Next Month

A little over a year after we finally heard that the game was coming to the West, "Phantasy Star Online 2" will debut on PC in North America at the end of next month. The game is already available on Xbox One and will be available for cross-play as soon as it launches on PC. According to Sega's press release, "PSO2 will make its North American debut on PC exclusively on the Microsoft Store in late May," with special offers and merchandise available if you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass.

The North American version includes three years of game content from the Japanese version, but includes many improvements in quality of life and balance. Sega has stated that there are fun-filled "events, collaborations, and expansions" ahead, so expect to see the next eight years' worth of Japanese content in this port. Phantasy Star Online 2 was released in 2012 and had longevity in Asia, but was never released in the West. Localization announcements were made, but were continually postponed, and after years of silence with no further news, Microsoft and Sega released a trailer for the localized version at last year's E3. It was a big shock at the time. In the words of our own Wes Fenlon, "Holy crap.
