Fallout 76 wanderers, unite! (with communist-themed cosmetics)

The ghost of microtransactions haunts West Virginia. Communist-themed skins and camping items added yesterday are now available for purchase in Fallout 76's Atom store. It is arguable that you can purchase these items and own them as your own personal property, but I may be overthinking this.

Anyway, not only can you turn Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin over in their graves, but you can also purchase weapons, character and power armor skins, and furnish your camp with themed wallpapers, floors and flags to "tear down the corruption in this land and claim it for the proletariat"

It is reasonable to assume that the people behind the Vault 76 initiative would probably not approve of you decorating yourself and your possessions in this bright shade of ideological crimson, but if you see the evils of economic inequality and want to proudly display your aspirations for social revolution, you can do so until May 19 Here's what you can buy until the end of the day and the price in Atoms, the game's premium currency:

The camp's cosmetics certainly stand out: a yellow star in a sea of red, along with a bust of Lenin, will be hard to miss by guests. I hate to say it, but it would put Chris' "crappy" camp to shame. Also, getting a collectron skin would allow items to be retrieved with maximum efficiency. Side effects of the hastily implemented collectivization, 5-year plan, and famine remain unconfirmed.

The cheapest bundle for Fallout 76 Atoms is $4.99/£3.99 for 500 pieces, which gives you one of most of the available items. The Spy bundle gets you a backpack and a Pip-Boy skin, and avid Equality fans can get it all for 4900 Atoms - the 5000 Atoms bundle is $40/£31.99. Those who don't want to spend real-world cash can get a free Liberator player icon by April 28.

Despite the irony of the new cosmetics, you may be one of the many new players to give the game a second chance now that Appalachia is filled with NPCs and meaningful choices in the Wastelanders expansion. Chris thinks "Fallout 76" finally feels like a "Fallout" game, and if you check out our Fallout 76 Alliance Guide, you'll learn how to scavenge for scraps and find a Fallout 76 bow.
