MechWarrior 5 DLC Delayed, But Will Be Expanded

The first DLC for MechWarrior 5 will likely take longer than originally promised. According to developer Piranha Games, the Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC will not be released until the first half of this year. Originally scheduled for release this month and then postponed to June, the DLC was pushed back to a release later this year due to telecommuting restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.According to a statement from Piranha Games, "As a result of these changes, releasing the enhanced Career Mode DLC in the first half of this year It is difficult to release the enhanced Career Mode DLC in the first half of this year". However, due to the extended development period, the release of the enhanced version will include a larger amount of new content than originally planned.

"Heroes of the Inner Sphere" will revolve around a new career mode, allowing players to specialize in a new type of profession as a member of a prestigious house of Battletech in campaign and standalone play. The Inner Sphere map will also be reworked with new warzones, new industrial locations, new mission types, and new quest lines. As one would expect from a Battletech game, there will also be new Mechs, new weapons, and new equipment. There will also be a new Giant Moon mission biome and a lunar base type building.

A free update is also planned, which will add several features. News feeds will keep players informed of interesting new developments, such as new technology and border changes. The radar for Mech will also be expanded, adding "ambient and area-based heat effects."

Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries was released last year and is available in the Epic Games store.
