Xbox Game Pass Reaches 10 Million Subscribers, Microsoft Reports "Record Engagement"

Microsoft announced during its recent earnings call that more than 10 million Xbox and PC users have subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, which provides access to an extensive library of games for a monthly fee.

The subscription service launched in 2017 and was primarily for Xbox One, though some games were also available for PC. Microsoft has since created a PC-only version, currently in beta but still boasting a crackingly diverse library; take a look at the full list of games included in the PC version of Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft has never boasted about its subscriber base, but now it certainly has good reason to. The high number of subscribers is partly due to the fact that people spend more time at home with social distance.

"People everywhere are turning to gaming to stay socially distant, but also to stay connected," Microsoft says.

"And we continue to offer new exclusive, first- and third-party content to attract and retain gamers.

There's no doubt that the current low prices are helping, too. Currently, you can sign up for 75% off your first month with a £1/$1 introductory offer. That means you can try the just-released "Gears Tactics" on your PC for almost free. We hope you'll give it a try.
