Bounty Contracts Return to 'Call of Duty: Warzone'

Sometimes being angry has consequences. Case in point: earlier this week, Activision added a new type of contract to Call of Duty's battle royale Warzone, while quietly removing Bounty contracts.

A bounty contract is one in which the squad holding it hunts down and kills an enemy squad player in a limited amount of time, earning in-game cash, XP, or other rewards. The approximate location of the target is displayed on the tactical map.

The Most Wanted contract is basically the opposite: the player who gets it will effectively put a bounty on all other shooters in the game. If a player survives for five minutes with a bounty mark on his back, he will get a large bounty (also in the game).

This is a high-risk, high-reward strategy, but many players complained that bounties encourage aggression, whereas Most Wanted contracts are counterproductive.

The Warzone update released last night gave them what they wanted: the Most Wanted contract was scrapped and the Bounty contract was reinstated. I'm not sure why the game doesn't have both (Activision didn't say), but if it has to be one or the other, bounties seem to be the more popular choice.

While the contract swap is a big deal, there are several other tweaks and changes in the update; the full patch notes, courtesy of Infinity Ward, are as follows:
