EA Play Live will be held in June, with "world premieres" and more

E3 has been canceled, but the show must go on. In Electronic Arts' case, that show will take place on June 11 at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET, and EA says it will "showcase our games through live broadcasts, community content, and more" at this all-digital event.

Despite the loss of major events like E3 and Gamescom to the coronavirus outbreak, 2020 could be a big year for EA. A new "Dragon Age" game is likely to be announced, and the sequel to "Mass Effect" could be unveiled for the first time. Andromeda" was a flop, but rumors surfaced late last year that a new "Mass Effect" game under the direction of Mike Gamble was in "very early development. If there's one thing we've learned from Bethesda, it's that it's never too early to make sure you're actually doing what your fans want.

There are likely to be upcoming events for Apex Legends and more news on The Sims, and we can expect more Star Wars-related things as well; Star Wars Battlefront 2 is "finished" now, and it's never too early to announce a Fallen Order sequel! I'm sure we'll see a sequel to Fallen Order. And maybe we will finally get some information on the Anthem overhaul.

The COVID-19 outbreak has thrown this summer's convention season into chaos, as all major shows, including E3, Gamescom, and QuakeCon, have been canceled; Gamescom recently promised a digital replacement show for 2020, Geoff Keighley announced a "Summer Game Fest" series of news and events that will run from May through August; E3's plans for a digital alternative show have been scrapped, and ESA said it will instead "work with exhibitors to promote and showcase individual company announcements." All dates and times for these digital events are known here.
