Not surprisingly, Cyberpunk 2077 received an "M" rating for maturity by the ESRB. What is surprising, however, are the elements that contributed to that rating. They are the customizable genitalia and the quests that allow the protagonist to crucify poor souls.

"There are places where mutilated corpses are depicted with open chest cavities or with organs and viscera exposed." During one quest, the player helps the character by driving a nail into a limb."

This last sentence is very puzzling. The use of the word "assist" suggests that the character wants to be crucified by you, but one can only imagine the purpose. This is because the summary goes right on from there, revealing a hitherto unknown feature of character customization in Cyberpunk 2077.

"Players can choose their gender and customize their characters. Customization includes depictions of breasts, hips, and genitalia, as well as various sizes and combinations," the overview states.

The wording here is vague, making it difficult to imagine exactly what this customization screen will look like; CD Projekt Red last year eliminated the binary gender options and instead changed the character creator to emphasize body shape, allowing players to create different parts of We know that the developer allowed players to create their characters as they wanted by combining them; the ESRB description suggests that the developer followed that approach, but we don't know to what extent.

The ESRB summary also states that characters can choose the size of their genitals. What that actually looks like is anyone's guess, but it could be something like in Conan Exiles, where there is a slider to adjust the length of the penis.

CDPR has also announced that they will share more details about the game on June 11, so we may get more answers then. We have also asked the developer for more information about character creation and will update this article when we hear back.
