Mafia Game" Twitter reopens, hinting at something

The official Twitter account for the "Mafia" series, which has been silent since August 2018, was reactivated today and tweeted one word: "Family." While fans will be grateful if this is a clue that a fourth film in the series will be announced, there is a strong possibility that it has something to do with the remastered versions of "Mafia 2" and "Mafia 3," which appeared on rating boards in South Korea and Taiwan earlier this year.

The remastering of the original "Mafia," released in 2002, is excellent, but probably a daunting task compared to the remasters of the very recent sequels, released in 2010 and 2016.

In 2018, "Mafia 3" studio Hangar 13 laid off some of its staff. According to their owner, 2K Games, this was to "ensure that the studio's resources are properly aligned with its long-term development plans," according to a representative. The layoffs "in no way affect 2K's ability to produce and deliver the products we are currently developing. We do not take these issues lightly and are working with the affected employees to support them and explore potential opportunities throughout the organization."
