Ubisoft's "E3 Style Showcase" coming in July

Ubisoft has joined the parade of publishers hosting their own digital E3-style event in 2020, announcing today that it will host the Ubisoft Forward in July with "news, announcements, and more."

Other than promising an "E3-style showcase," Ubisoft hasn't said anything about what we can expect at the show, but our guess is that we'll probably get a good look at "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" and hopefully some proper gameplay. We may also get an update on the status of "Watch Dogs Legion," "Rainbow Six Quarantine," and "Gods and Monsters," which were delayed until late 2019 after "Ghost Recon Breakpoint" and "The Division 2" flopped.

There will no doubt be surprises as well. Ubisoft announced in February that it would release five "triple-A" games by April 2021, and I remain hopeful that "Far Cry: Blood Dragon 2" will be one of them. (Mark 4 style, Monkey Tracker!) One thing we probably won't see is "Beyond Good and Evil 2," which Ubisoft stated in its February announcement was not one of its five planned games.

Ubisoft Forward will launch on July 12 at 12pm PT/3pm ET. The streaming platform was not revealed, but if we had to guess that too, Twitch is probably one of them.
