Three Trailers for Sci-Fi Shooter "Crucible" Reveal More of the Alien World

Amazon has released three videos for its upcoming free-to-play shooter Crucible. The videos give an overview of each of the three different game modes of the shooter, which take place in Crucible's alien world, explaining what each mode is and what players must do to win.

Inspired by other hero shooters like "Overwatch," the game features quirky weirdos with guns. There are a variety of characters to choose from, including robots, humans, aliens, and even a cat with a fluffy tail.

Crucible will be released later this month, but you can stay ahead of the competition before you get started by checking out the overview below.

Crucible's three modes are Heart of the Hives, Alpha Hunters, and Harvester Command, all of which are a mix of PvP and PvE. First up is "Heart of the Hives," a four-on-four battle between the enemy team and a giant hive monster. The team that defeats three giant hives and collects the most purple "hearts" wins.

Alpha Hunters is a straight-up competition between eight teams of two. As a pair, you must track down and defeat the other seven pairs. This mode focuses on leveling up, allowing you to become more powerful during the match. If your partner falls during a battle, you are still not out of the game. You can team up with other lone wolves to form temporary alliances, but when you are the last two or three players, the alliance will dissolve and you will be the victor.

Harvester Command is an 8-on-8 mode in which players compete for control of essence harvesters scattered across the crucible's map. Teams control a variety of harvesters and earn points by defeating players on the enemy team. The first team to earn 100 points wins. This mode is a balance between defending your harvester and pushing to gain control of other harvesters.

The Crucible's YouTube channel has a video showing five hunters, the most recently released being Shakiry, a hunter who can switch between guns, swords, and shields.
