Destiny 2 Titans Receive Small Statue for Winning Guardian Game

Destiny 2's first Guardian Games event is over, and players who have been competing for the past three weeks can breathe a sigh of relief. Tim said it was a "mess," and described it as "a grindfest that was tone-deaf and big-ticket." One class dominated the others. One class dominated the others, deciding once and for all, or at least until next year, that the Titans are the best Guardians and the rest are dregs.

The first day looked to be an overwhelming victory for the hunters, but there was concern that there were so many hunters that their victory was practically a given. People love cool cloaks, and rightly so. But contrary to expectations, it was the Titans who played the most and won the most medals.

To commemorate the Titan victory, this historic feat, this class-defining moment, Bunge erected a statue. It's a very small statue. It is in a corner of the tower. Not only is it a little short, but Titan has to share it with the rest of the class. At least Titan's dog (Phil assures me it's a lion, but I don't believe him) is golden.

As you can see from this very technical diagram, it's not exactly something to be proud of:

Still, I hope it's worth the effort.

This season's direction and the prominence of microtransactions may have made players a bit deflated recently, but Bungie promises some positive changes, including a transmogrification feature and increased rewards for raiding and other activities. Since the Guardian game offered little in the way of new fun for veteran players, one hopes that it will include attractive ways to actually earn these rewards.
