Acer's 27-inch IPS monitor for only $220

Gaming monitors are great, but most sacrifice visual quality for high refresh rates, and the best choices usually carry a high price tag, although Acer's 27-inch CB271HU display may be locked in at 60Hz, It uses a high-quality IPS (in-plane switching) panel and costs just $220 at B&H Photo. That's a savings of $80 from the original MSRP.

The monitor is a 1440p (2560x1440) IPS display with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, support for up to 1.07 billion colors, a 4 ms response time, and a peak brightness of 350 cd/m². It also has a non-glare finish, so there should be little or no glare if the PC is placed near a window or other light source.

Other features include 60 degrees of swivel movement, VESA mount compatibility, built-in speakers, and DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort inputs. It can also be rotated to stand vertically.

120Hz monitors in the same price range as this one are easy to find (some with the same 1440p resolution), but they either use lower quality Twisted Nematic panels or are physically smaller. This large 27" IPS display is a great choice if you want more accurate color or are looking for a second (or third) monitor for an existing setup.
