Henry Cavill appears in the new DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2.

In April, Henry Cavill, who alternates between Hollywood hottie and ardent geek, found himself spending his COVID-19 quarantine period painting warhammer miniatures.

His enthusiasm apparently has not gone unnoticed by Creative Assembly. The studio will be releasing a new DLC for "Total War: Warhammer 2" later this week, "The Warden and the Paunch," an epic war story of high elves and greenskins, and it turns out that Cavil is in it.

Ironically, fans of the "Total War" subreddit joked that Cavil would appear in the DLC as the High Elven Prince Elsarion of Eveleth. In reality, he has a much smaller, less prominent role as Cavill, Loremaster of Hoeth. As you might have guessed from the name, PCGamesN has posted an image showing that one of his abilities is called White Wolf, which gives a +15 bonus against large enemies, and Cavill's role as Livia in The Witcher Season 2 on Netflix. Geralt is known as the White Wolf, and his bonus ability against large enemies seems appropriate for a monster hunter.

Game director Richard Aldridge admitted that the heroes in the game are based on real-life heroes. He said, "For me, there's nothing I love more than bringing the Warhammer universe to life, and like many fans, I love playing with the new characters and painting the minis at home. [So when I saw that a certain Mr. Cavil said he was more than happy to fire up "Total War: Warhammer" in his spare time and paint a few models, as he has done with many developers over the years, it would be fun to somehow bring him into the game! I thought, "You know what? Maybe you can find me. With Warden and Paunch on the horizon, I thought it would be a good opportunity to get Henry involved, and what better way to start a campaign as Elsarion than to have the lore of the mighty Hoes by my side with a few personal special traits?

"Total War: Warhammer 2 - The Warden and the Paunch" will be released on May 21 and is available for pre-purchase on Steam for $8/£6/€8. "Eltharion the Grim" courtesy of Turin In the extended gameplay trailer, Henry Cavill can be seen briefly as Loremaster of Hoeth at around the 11 minute mark.
