Embracer Group (formerly THQ Nordic AB) has 118 games in development

The Embracer Group (formerly THQ Nordic AB, and before that Nordic Games) has experienced enormous growth over the past four years. According to its latest annual report, a whopping 118 games are in development, 69 of which have yet to be announced.

Some of these games may never see the light of day, but it's still a staggering number. But considering how many developers are attached to its subsidiaries, it is not surprising.

After snatching up much of THQ's catalog along with its name in 2016, the company quickly began acquiring developers and publishers, including Coffee Stain and Koch Media. Today, the company has 31 studios and five major subsidiaries.

Through these studios, the company is responsible for a fairly diverse roster of games, from Snowrunner to Deep Rock Galactic, although it has resurrected many retired series, most recently Comanche; Snowrunner's Saber Interactive is its latest acquisition, apparently spurred on by the surprising success of the middling zombie shooter World War Z.

Planned releases this year include Biomutant, Chorus, and Destroy all Humans!

. The full list of games announced by the Embracer Group can be found in the full presentation, but some of the games are very much unannounced. For example, "Dead Island 2" has been at MiA for six years, passing from developer to developer without any news. Apparently it is still being made.
