Vallorant will be on sale June 2.

The immensely popular closed beta of Valorant has ended, leaving a lot of free time for those who were watching on Twitch - which swelled to nearly 2 million on the first day. The closed beta will end on May 28, but the official release is not far off. The launch is June 2.

Between May 28 and the release date, Riot will reset accounts so everyone can start fresh and add new modes, agents, and maps. They will also be adding new servers in Atlanta, Dallas, London, Madrid, and Warsaw to reduce wait times.

You can watch Executive Producer Anna Donlon and Game Director Joe Ziegler talk with Geoff Keighley about the launch in the stream below.

Vanguard has been criticized for being too intrusive because it installs kernel-mode drivers and is essentially at the core of the OS. Ostensibly intended to stop aimbotting, etc., it is so strict that it can block completely unrelated programs when Valorant is not running.

Harassment has also been an issue in closed beta, similar to League of Legends; even Donlon recently had a video of a TeamFight Tactics UX designer being repeatedly propositioned by another Valorant player In response to his posting, he admitted that this was the reason he would not enter the queue as a solo player.

But for many, it still seems to be a very appealing prospect: a new competitive shooter with characters and abilities inspired by "Overwatch" while referencing "Counter-Strike.

In preparation for the launch, you can stay one step ahead by reading our tips for playing Valorant, our guide to Valorant's guns, and our character guide to Valorant. It's a lot of reading, but you have until June 2.
