Pac-Man Celebrates 40th Birthday on Twitch

Pac-Man turned 40 this year and, naturally, is having a bit of a mid-life crisis and has decided to launch a Twitch channel. However, the yellow glutton will not be embarking on streaming, but will be able to play the impending "Pac-Man Live Studio."

The newest Pac-Man game offers free cooperative play for up to four players, with four different modes, including a classic version from 1980, but throughout, you'll be eating and navigating mazes as you'd expect. No download is required, and the game can be played directly on the game's Twitch channel.

If you're a bit of a Daedalus-phile, you can create your own maze and share it in hopes that it will top the world's maze charts. Otherwise, how would you know you're cool?

Twitch dipped its toe into the gaming platform in 2017 when it temporarily sold it, but never really played to its strengths; Twitch Plays is a chat where everyone tries to finish one game together, from Pokemon to Dark Souls and proved to be more popular; Pac-Man Live Studio is played like a regular game, but still seems to be in the vicinity of Twitch Plays, blurring the line between streaming and playing.

Come June, we will be able to fully enjoy Pac-Man as it aims to become a Twitch star.
