Writer of "John Wick" Wants to Make TV Show Based on "My Friend Pedro" and "Bendy and the Ink Machine

In an interview with comicbook.com, Derek Kolstad, writer and co-creator of the movie "John Wick," said he is planning several TV shows based on video games. What kind of video games? Well, it doesn't sound like the work of the man who worked on a series of films based solely on double-tapping goons for revenge.

The first pitch is based on the indie hit My Friend Pedro. It's a game where you shoot people in slow motion, after all, even while riding a skateboard at the behest of a talking banana named Pedro. It's fun, it's silly, and it could make for a decent slapstick gore comedy. [The second, based on "Bendy and the Ink Machine," is the kind of game that is well known to those who follow certain streamers but completely unknown to the rest of us. In this first-person survival horror, the enemies are twisted Golden Age cartoon characters, with cute things turned creepy. It's a "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" kind of thing, and the contrast leans toward horror.

The pitch for a TV show is likely to produce nothing, as it has a long way to go before it is actually produced. However, the film adaptations of "Castlevania" and "The Witcher" (both of which were quite good, and both of which were made into films) have been very successful.
