Logitech's best wireless gaming keyboard just got smaller and cheaper

Logitech G has introduced the G915 TKL, a chunky, tenkeyless variant of its premium wireless gaming keyboard. Features include thinner keys and keycaps, media controls, Lightspeed wireless functionality, and per-key RGB lighting.

The Logitech G915 TKL packs nearly the same punch as its full-size sibling, and including the one-two to your bank account, the G915 TKL is available for $230 (£199). But if you're looking for a premium keyboard and aren't immediately intimidated by the price, this smaller version has a lot to offer.

For one thing, you can choose between GL Linear, GL Tactile, and GL Clicky switches. In my experience, they are an alternative to regular full-size switches like Cherry or Kailh, such as Cherry MX Browns, which have 1.5mm actuation points that allow for slightly quicker key presses than some switches.

The five bonus macro keys on the left side of the full-size G915 have been shaved to save space on the numeric keyless version, as have the profile selection M1-4 keys. The volume wheel is present and accounted for, although it has been reduced to fit the smaller chassis area.

Logitech boasts 135 days of battery life with the lights off. However, few spend this much money on a keyboard with iridescent sparkles, and with the lighting turned on, battery life is reduced to just 40 hours.

The keyboard is charged via Micro USB and can also be used to connect to a gaming PC instead of Lightspeed wireless (using the included USB dongle) or the built-in Bluetooth connection.

The Logitech G915 TKL will be available starting in June 2020. And if you are wondering if you need a wireless keyboard, this keyboard may not be for you. It's handy for gaming in the living room, and it keeps your desk tidy.

Stay tuned for more details on the Logitech G915 TKL and my thoughts on it in my next review. If you want one now, the full-size G915 has an MSRP of $250 (£210), but you can often get it for much less.
