Razer Blade 15 Studio is the gaming laptop you want but can't afford

Traditional gaming laptops are fine, but if money were no object and you needed a professional GPU, you would take a long hard look at Razer's new Blade 15 Studio Edition, which features a 4K OLED display that Razer took the liberty of calibrating before shipping. It is a "creator" laptop with an Intel Core i7-10875H processor and an Nvidia GeForce Quadro RTX 5000 GPU.

This is essentially a mobile workstation, but calling it a "mobile studio" for creators sounds fancier. Technically, it is not for gaming. The regular Blade 15 and Blade 15 Advanced Edition cover that category as the best Razer laptops for gaming. They are also expensive, priced at $4,299.99. So why pay quite a bit more for a Studio model?

Most gamers shouldn't; while it is possible to play games on the Quadro RTX 5000, the drivers are tuned for professional 3D work and run slower than we're used to for stability. However, for those who make games or regularly immerse themselves in 3D modeling, the Studio version of Blade 15 seems to be perfect.

Like the rest of the Blade 15 lineup, the chassis is molded from a single block of aluminum. It looks more luxurious than carbon fiber or plastic laptops, and one would expect it to be so if you shell out $4,000 or more.

The 4K OLED display is particularly interesting in that it comes with custom calibration. This is a nice luxury, but for strictly gaming, the Blade 15 has the option of faster LCD displays (144Hz and even 240Hz).

In any case, the Blade 15 Studio Edition is available now.
