Approximately 3 million players a day played "Valorant" during its closed beta period.

Valorant's beta may have been closed, but Riot was dropping keys like they were going out of style. Not surprisingly, many people took advantage of the chance to be among the first to experience the shooter and made multiple trips to the site; Riot claims that an average of nearly 3 million people played the beta each day.

The beta brought in other big numbers as well: Twitch viewers spent a whopping 470 million hours playing with other players, 34 million of which happened in just one day. At its peak, 1.7 million people watched Valorant's stream together.

Its closest competitor, CS:GO, despite being much older, was not to be outdone. In March, eight years after launch, it surpassed one million concurrent players; it is consistently one of the most played games on Steam, sometimes reigning at the top; Valorant can still amass big numbers today, but it's all about staying power.

Valorant's closed beta ended yesterday, but it won't be long until you can join again; Riot is resetting accounts and preparing new modes, agents, and maps.
