Update: Tencent did not add Bohemia Interactive to its large list of acquisitions, leaving the Arma 3 developer independent.

"It's not true," marketing head Petr Poláček told Hospodářské Noviny. 'Tencent has not acquired us; Bohemia Interactive remains an independent studio. I don't know where this information came from."

Bohemia Interactive has previously partnered with Tencent when it brought Ylands to the WeGame platform, and there may be further "strategic cooperation" with Tencent and others in the future.

Bohemia Interactive's CEO also denied the reports in a separate statement.

"We wanted to inform you that the information circulated by various major media outlets that Bohemia Interactive was acquired by Tencent is not true." We have spoken with many potential partners in the past about the possibility of strategic cooperation and may do so in the future, but for now we remain an independent studio."

It has been a busy year for Tencent. The company acquired Conan Exiles studio Funcom earlier this year, invested in Spec Ops studio Yager, and recently took over development of System Shock 3. Tencent also owns Riot Games, which recently shipped "Valorant."
