A Total War Saga: Troy" to support mods "as soon as possible" after release.

A Total War Saga: Troy, a strategic retelling of the unpleasantness between the Greek and Trojan armies, will be available on the Epic Games Store on August 13; like all Total War titles released on Steam, official mod support at launch is not available, but developer Creative Assembly confirmed today that the title is built to support mods.

"It is our desire to ensure that Troy is on par with other modern Total War games in terms of mod support, and rest assured we are working to provide this as soon as possible," the studio wrote. We are actively working with Epic to support this feature."

Official mod support for Total War games is typically provided at some point after release. For example, Total War: Three Kingdoms was released on May 23, 2019, but mod support by Steam Workshop was not rolled out until July 4, 2019. What makes this situation different is that the Epic Games Store does not currently have a system to support mods through the storefront.

However, it may launch soon, and possibly before "A Total War Saga: Troy" launches as is: Trello's Epic Games Store roadmap includes offline sign-in and storefront " Along with the "Trends" category, mod support is listed as a "next feature.

"A Total War Saga: Troy" will be available exclusively on the Epic Game Store for one year. For the first 24 hours after release (August 13), the game will be free to play forever.
