Dragon Age Inquisition," "Need for Speed," and other EA games on sale on Steam

In October 2019, Electronic Arts announced a new partnership with Valve that would bring (and in some cases revive) EA games to Steam. The process began with the release of Star Wars Jedi a few weeks later: and today, the first of those games has arrived.

In no particular order:

Also on sale, though not new to Steam, are Plants vs. Zombies: GOTY Edition, Mirror's Edge, the rest of the Crysis games, and Peggle Complete. ("Chuzzle Deluxe" is $2.50, and I really can't recommend it enough.)

Electronic Arts also said in last year's Steam announcement that the EA Access subscription service would also be coming to Steam this spring. The wheels of planning seem to be turning on that part of the plan as well: the Steam page for each new game has an image saying it is coming soon, including "exclusive trials, great games, and more."

Update: Electronic Arts said this is the first wave of 25+ games coming to Steam, and that future games developed for PC will also launch on Steam along with other storefronts.

"We want to make it easy for you to play your favorite games anywhere, and distributing our games to the Steam community is an important step in achieving this goal. Not only are we excited to have our games available on Steam, but we look forward to providing even more value when subscriptions become available in the summer."

Details of how EA Access will be implemented on Steam have yet to be announced, but it is essentially a console version of Origin Access: for $5 per month or $30 per year, you get discounts on the purchase of full-length games, DLC, season passes, new games pre-release access, and unlimited access to a large selection of EA's new and old titles; EA says the server will be coming to Steam later this summer.

EA's Steam publisher page is also available now.
