Overcooked" Free for One Week at Epic Game Store

"Overcooked" has been free on the Epic Games Store for a week. If this sounds familiar, it's because we said the exact same thing on July 4, 2019, when "Overcooked" first went free on the Epic Games Store.

You may be wondering what happened to "Ark: Survival Evolved," which was supposed to follow last week's freebie "Borderlands" in a leak in mid-May: Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. It was leaked in mid-May. According to a message posted yesterday by developer Studio Wildcard, it will be next week.

"Due to the situation in the US and around the world, we are postponing the ARK in-game event to Thursday, June 11. We understand that our community has been eagerly awaiting the ARK in-game party and the launch of Crystal Isles. We felt it would be inappropriate to celebrate the milestone at this time. We believe now is the time to pay our respects and listen to others."

The announcement does not mention the Epic Games Store giveaway, but it is reasonable to assume that the two will coincide. [While not GTA5 or Civ 6, Overcooked is a pretty good game. It's a cooking and chaos-themed local co-op game for up to four players, and we rate it "by far the best couch party game ever made." In addition, it has been almost a year since the first "Overcooked" giveaway campaign and the EGS audience has grown considerably, so there are likely many users who missed out on the giveaway the first time around.

(In fact, I just checked and I missed the first one too, thank you Epic...)

"Overcooked" will be free to play until June 11, after which a new game (mystery game) will take its place.
