General
EA Sports will provide cloud noise for Premier League matches.

The English Premier League has provided entertainment in times of social distance thanks to the ePremier League Invitational Tournament played on FIFA 20, but now that actual matches are returning to the field, FIFA is once again offering a helping hand.

While other sporting events have replaced spectators with cardboard cutouts (or stuffed animals in the case of a Korean baseball game), the eerie silence can make a match seem like a workout. It is also quite difficult to hide all the swearing.

And as the Sky Sports website explains, "In partnership with EA SPORTS FIFA, Sky Sports has created bespoke, team-specific crowd noises and chants to restart the lively atmosphere of the Premier League.

Perhaps there will also be an element of live crowd noise control to simulate reactions to goals, penalties, etc. As of now, the Premier League resumes on June 17 after a three-month hiatus, with Aston Villa vs. Sheffield United and Manchester City vs. Arsenal to be the first two games. Of course, all of this is tentative at this stage.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
