Rainbow Six Siege" Next Operator Leaked in New Video

Let's take a bucket of "Rainbow Six Siege" 2020 Operators continue to leak heavily. It was said that the Season 3 operator would be a "Splinter Cell" crossover character, but the latest leaked information reveals that the character will appear in the next two seasons.

Information about Season 3 and Season 4 comes from two different quarters: word of mouth from leakers and new videos that seem to corroborate these sources. The most reliable information comes from Kormora, a veteran leaker, who says the attackers have "a [sic] camera with a hole through the wall." The only hint they get about the defender in Season 4 is a single word: laser.

WARNING: You might want to mute the audio. [A hilariously coarse, 17-minute gameplay video has been uploaded by Gamer Felonies, the same channel that leaked the initial gameplay of Siege's Grand Larceny event a few months ago. The new video showcases firsthand gameplay of Season 3's "Splinter Cell" attacker, codenamed "Scout," and Season 4's Thai defender "Aruni." The shaky camerawork and 144p resolution make it very difficult to make out the details, but they seem to be consistent with Kormora's claims.

For those who don't want to melt their eyeballs, Reddit user PapaCapinya looked through the video and brought out some interesting observations about Scout and Arni. Scout's appearance seems to be consistent with a leak from a few weeks ago that the community thought was Buck's elite skin. To be fair, given the chiseled face and beard, that's an easy mistake to make.

The scout's primary weapon is apparently a new rifle called the SC3000X, but it shows what appears to be placeholder art for the Fuze/Ace AK-12 assault rifle; the "SC" classification should sound familiar to avid Splinter Cell fans, as it's the same rifle that was used by the Scout in the series. It's the same name as the highly customized rifle Sam Fisher has in the series. If this is indeed a brand new gun, it would be the first additional weapon since Kali's sniper rifle last year.

There is also a glimpse of a scout gadget, which appears to be a hand-held launcher with green-tinted sights (again, possibly taken from Splinter Cell). This is presumably the Scout's special camera launcher that can penetrate walls. The video does not show the gadget in clear action, but the player operating it fires the launcher at another player and then switches to a filtered camera that looks like a night vision camera. His custom observation tool with green accents is also a sure hint that the scout is handling a camera.

In the thumbnail of the video, season 4 defender Aruni is clearly visible. This name comes directly from the operator screen in the video, but it could also be a codename. Aruni's gadget is not seen in the video, but is called "laser enhancement" on the operator select screen. The official name seen in the game is "Surya Gate". It appears that Aruni can install up to four of these on doors, windows, and possibly walls. Laser reinforcement could be a radical new tool for defense, depending on its functionality.

Even more interesting is Aruni's robotic arm. In the video, he breaks a barricade with a single blow of his left arm and punches a hole the size of a basketball in the wall. It is difficult to get a good look at the arm, but the high-resolution shot in the video thumbnail looks a lot like the type of robotic arm Big Boss wears in "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" (that's right). The video does not depict any limitations to this ability, suggesting that it can be used as freely as any other operator's standard melee attack. He is also the first defender equipped with a DMR-Dokkaebi Mk14 EBR.

All of these videos are set on the Chalet map, which will be rebuilt in Season 3. PapaCapinya also includes detailed observations about the differences he noticed in the layout, including the accessible roof and the new stairs in the trophy room. See the full post for more details.

This is a lot of work. However, this video is far too heavy-handed to be an elaborate fake. What is most suspicious about this video is its uncanny resemblance to 1980s home videos. There is always the possibility that a design like this will be changed before it is finally released. Unless that is the case, I have no doubt that we will see a camera-focused Splinter Cell agent and a tie defender with a Big Boss bionic arm by the end of the year.
