A YouTuber who previously successfully leaked a Battlefield game claims that a remaster of 2011's Battlefield 3 is in the works.
In the video, Daqari claims that the remaster will be released along with "a new Battlefield game," comparing the release of the Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare remake to that of Infinite Warfare.
The remastered version will include all content that was included in the game at launch, plus all existing DLC such as "Close Quarters" and "Back to Kharkan." In addition to the obvious visual and technology upgrades, the remastered version will also include new cosmetics available as microtransactions and is said to be in line with recent "Battlefield" games. Surprisingly, Daqari does not mention current consoles as launch platforms for the remaster, only mentioning PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.
Daqari has a precedent when it comes to leaking information about Battlefield. They successfully leaked the name of Battlefield 1, its setting, its flexible approach to historical accuracy, and the existence of specific multiplayer maps. A few years later they leaked the existence of Battlefield V. They claimed that the game was set in World War II, but otherwise did not provide information on the same scale as they did in the first leak.
This is a leak from an anonymous Youtuber, who does not cite a source and probably needs to buy the entire salt mine. This information also somewhat contradicts recent rumors that the next Battlefield 3 game will be inspired by Battlefield 3, rather than a complete remaster of Battlefield.
The specificity of their "Battlefield 1" leak leads us to believe that they are insiders at DICE or EA, and the fact that there are only four videos spaced several years apart leads us to believe that they are doing this out of love for the series, not to chase internet fame by spreading false rumors It would seem that.
If a "Battlefield 3" remaster is to be announced, it will most likely be at EA Play on June 18 at 4 p.m. PT.
